The Story of Devlin Darck, Demon Fighter

In the infamous haunted house, La Rue Manor, a paranormal team was attempting to use the energy house to create an artificial portal to prove that portals exist and bring the scientific establishment closer to admitting that the paranormal is real. But during the experiment a demon from Hell possessed demonologist Devlin Darck and forced him to kill the rest of the paranormal research group.

It was when the demon tricked Devlin’s girlfriend Carol to hang herself on the promise that it would release Devlin. But watching the love of his life die shocked Devlin enough to give him the strength to force the demon out of him. But once he was free the demon managed to use his energy to send Devlin smashing backward through the large main window in the manor’s living room and sending him crashing into a large oak tree outside. The impact shattered his spine and broke his neck, killing him.

Devlin found himself falling into the wasteland of Hell, but an angel pulled him out and landed in a place between Heaven and Hell.

The angel, who introduced himself as Veronal, Vernon for short, told him he had a rare opportunity to save himself from damnation in Hell. He said that because he had done the extremely rare act of self-exorcising himself The Father had decided that he had earned the chance to cleanse his soul, which was currently tarnished by fragments of the demon and thus unable to be allowed into Heaven. The rub was that he would be required to do battle with demons and have the power of an angel channeled to defeat them, which would slowly dispel the demonic fragments within his soul. Also, because of the possession the souls of the paranormal research crew were connected to Devlin and their fates were determined by his, including his girlfriend Carol who would be his go between with paranormal team spirits and act as his spirit guide.

With no other choice Devlin agree to take the offer…

The next day the grounds keeper found Devlin sitting against the tree in a coma. He is taken to the hospital and remain in the coma for a year.

A year later, the demon, who survived being kicked out of Devlin, found another person to possess. It had its host go to the hospital to kill Devlin. But Vernon partially possessed Devlin and helped him escape the hospital before the demon could get to him.

During the partial possession Devlin becomes conscious. He has no memory of who he is or what’s happened. We walks the streets and eventually through  pure force of habit manages to find his way to his brother Damon’s apartment, where Vernon and Carol help Devlin restore his memory.

Devlin tells Damon about his situation and Damon agrees to help him.

Now, it’s Devlin, Damon, Vernon and Carol against the hordes of Hell with Devlin’s along with the paranormal team’s souls at risk…
